Search for Living Relatives

During the forty years of communism, many family ties have been broken. We can help you restore the old ones and build new family relationships. The first steps of this work consist of genealogical research performed in the archives. But please note that the archives hold only registers from the early 19 hundreds and older. Whatever is more recent is being stored in municipal offices and is not available to the general public (because of the privacy-protection laws). Nevertheless, we have our ways of bridging over the gaps of time and finding local relatives.

Genealogical Research

We provide complete genealogical research. That includes research in different types of archives and for different types of documents (property research, heir location, search for certificates, creating family trees, digital copies of records etc). - In order to start, we need to receive as much information from you as possible. Copies of original documents or family records (e.g. hand written notes in your old family bible) are always the best.

Travel Services

While visiting a foreign country that speaks a language that you do not understand, you can remain on the surface of international restaurants and hotels or you can accept our invitation to dig deeper and gain the most out of your trip. – We can offer you to be your translators, drivers, and cultural guides while you will be visiting Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria or Germany. It is up to you, if you will want to hire us for the whole time of your stay or just for particular days. Of course, there is cost involved. At the other hand, if you hire us for your whole stay, we will be able to drive you around and you will not need to worry about renting a car. – We have experiences with guiding individuals as well as mid-size groups and big groups.

Translating Services

We are able to communicate in six different languages: Czech, English, German, French, Spanish, and Russian. We can translate your old newspaper articles, family documents, as well as your correspondence. Many of our clients have been using our services in a long term run. We have been serving as translators of their correspondence with their Czech friends or relatives.

Taking Pictures of Ancestral Villages

It may not be possible for you to come and visit your ancestral village. We can still help you to enjoy it. We can take pictures of your ancestral village and the area around it. It is a beautiful way of getting an idea what the “Old Country” of your family was like. Pictures of your ancestry town, old church or school, historical buildings, sometimes even of the former house of your family could be a perfect gift as well. It means a lot to the seniors while it can also easily awaken the interest of those who never seemed to care much for their family history.
